Error occurs when attempting to retrieve Purchase Orders from QuickBooks using the Purchase Order Manger Utility

Error might say: NullReferenceException

Usually this error occurs when there is a PO in QB that is missing a field that QB and the utility expects to have a value. You can narrow down your date range to try to identify which PO might be causing the issue. 

There is probably a PO with a blank or invalid Expected Date in the date range that you are trying to retrieve. Check your PO's in QB, correct any missing or unusual Expected Date values, then try retrieving PO's from PO Manager again.
